2 cup flour
1 tbsp baking powder
4 tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable shortening

Preheat the oven to 450°F.
Combine dry ingredients.
Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut shortening into dry mixture until mixture resembles a coarse meal.
In a separate bowl, beat egg with milk.
Pour into flour mixture and stir until all ingredients are thoroughly moistened.
Drop about 1/3 cup of dough into mounds on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
*My Grandma served this with fresh strawberries and cream, but you can use other berries as well.*
