Ingredients flaky pie crust


2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup + 2 teaspoons of chilled shortening
5 tablespoons ice cold water + til dough forms

how to make flaky pie crust


Add flour, salt, and cubed chilled shortening to chilled bowl.


With pastry cutter or fork, cut shortening into the flour and salt until it resembles pea sized crumbs.


Add 5 tablespoons of ice water, one at a time until dough vegans to come together... do not add too much water.... you may just need an additional tablespoon or two.


Dump flour back onto a floured board or pastry mat. Form disk and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours


Remove from refrigerator and roll out on floured pastry mat. Use as desired
