how to make french puree or mashed potatoes
Place the potatoes in a saucepan, cover it with water, add a pinch of salt and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes.
When the potatoes are cooked, remove from heat and drain completely.
In a bowl, add in a milk, a pinch of nutmeg, salt and mix well.
Mash well the potatoes with a fork (or a potato masher if you have one), then place them in a saucepan over low heat. Slowly add in the milk mixture, and the butter. Stir until it is well mixed around 3 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving dish and eat hot as a side dish with a grilled steak or chicken fillet.
